Web Design Packages – Fair, Honest, Custom & Upfront Pricing

Pricing for web design packages is one of the most complicated challenges all web companies face. Most web companies have an opinion of what their time is worth and what their hourly rate should equate to – which explains why you’ll see quotes ranging all over the board when you’re shopping around. Dissecting all the variables that go into the equation when trying to be flexible to offer a tailored solution is imperative; accurately estimating a web project can be very difficult but not impossible. So, the question is how do we offer web design packages while not restricting our clients to a take-it-or-lose-it menu and yet deliver a custom solution?

Over the years, we have completed countless website and marketing proposals and delivered hundreds of solutions ranging from custom eCommerce Websites to your basic informational static website. We have used numerous tools currently available on the market today, such as eCommerce and Content Management Systems (CMS). They have streamlined the process of managing web content to the extreme and have provided a set of common tools that most businesses demand.

As a matter of fact, most small to medium sized business use a CMS or Shopping Cart to easily manage their websites themselves. These tools can be paid or open source (freely available). A report by Standish Group states that “Adoption of open-source software models has resulted in savings of about $60 billion per year to consumers.” We specialize with a set of industry standard & proven applications that fulfill the CMS and eCommerce requirements for our clients, plus we support it for a full year at no cost to you. We constantly look for common grounds in a competitive market, especially when it comes to web standards and the open source community, while keeping a focus on a solution based outcome.

Web Design PackagesWe service other businesses and each one of them carries its own unique characteristics. With web design services, everything boils down to compiling the content for each webpage. Who is going to provide it? Do you need help? Can you give us the content verbatim, word for word and picture for picture? Did you thoroughly analyze your competitors? Do you have a site map? What keywords are going to work? We can help you! I am talking about research, information architecture, website wire-framing, content development and competitive analysis. The truth is that no one understands your business better than you do and, in most cases, you can provide us with the content better and quicker than anyone else. However, if the need arises, we can assist you!

Web Content is the King of online strategies. This includes not only the copy, but the pictures or stock photography for placement within the copy itself. Well organized and valuable Web Content is a determining factor in why people would consider doing business with you. We offer a solution where we can assist you. You may only need 20% partial assistance or you may need up to 80%. That would roughly be about one-half hour to an hour and a half per page for content assistance and development respectively. Just let us know how many pages you need help with, send us what you got and we will take care of the rest.

We have done this web stuff for a long time now and have fined tuned a sound and profitable solution that shows accountability in a rough economical time. Of course, we do put together proposals for the complex project – we can build you the most advanced website you’ve ever laid your eyes on and make it look exactly the way you want it, but most websites fall into one of our web design packages with perhaps a little Web Content Development or help with your ecommerce product data.

The bottom line is this: with our web design packages, you’re not stuck in a box. You have various options available for customization and assistance. Most people are looking for an easy to use solution that allows them to get what they’re looking for in a website without all the hassles and complications that typically come along with them, and that’s what we’ve done with our packages without resorting to the “cookie cutter” approach. We’ve given you the starting line for your custom designed website – where you take it from there is entirely up to you.

I was looking at some of the web designs and I love a few of them. I was wondering if you could submit your ideas to a web designer and have them create something off of those ideas rather than having to conform your ideas to what they have already created? This is something my son wants to do and he is in school now to get his degree.

My son wants to get into graphic design and designing web pages but there are so many out there that already do this I am afraid that the competition would be to great. This is a big step for him and I don’t want him to be crushed because there are just to many of these designers out there. Keep up the good work I look forward to your next post.

I’m sure these web design packages are very reasonable. I think it is important for all companies and freelance developers to not under price yourself. Charge what you are worth and make sure your client is every bit pleased with your work. Market research will bring a lot of good information to the surface. And while you learn your competition, don’t feel like you have to undercut “them in order to succeed.

I could not agree more about the challenges of pricing web development packages. I used to freelance as a web developer and for years, I could not decide whether to charge a certain rate per hour or charge based on the type of website. The biggest challenge is figuring out a way to limit the number of tweaks a client can request before being billed for it. If you don’t you’ll run into that client who never stops changing things.

The Internet bubble may have burst, but online business is here to stay. Your business must be online, and you must be making the most of the internet opportunities. In order to do that you will need an experienced website designer who will analyze your needs and build, design, and manage the website solution that is right for you. Your website designer must understand your business and your business operations and design a website that is the best for you.

I am looking forward to checking out some of your designs and I am hoping to find something that I just have to have for my business. Right now I have something very generic and I have seen some online that are very good and they pop grabbing your attention very quickly. I want something that will do that but also be very easy to change the content of.

A friend of mine designs web pages for a living and he is very good at it but I think there might be some things in this article that even he isn’t aware of yet. I will have to show him this post and see what he thinks and then post another comment based on his reaction. I look forward to reading more of your posts in the future.
